About the Role
Ardee School is looking for an HR Manager / Assistant Manager to help us build and run a modern, high-performing HR function. This role sits at the intersection of Talent Acquisition and HR Business Partnering, you'll be responsible for hiring the right people into the organisation and for partnering with teams and leaders to support them well once they're in it.
We're looking for someone who has worked in a School environment and understands the particular rhythms, culture and people-needs of a school setting, from academic hiring cycles to working closely with educators and school leadership. You'll be comfortable owning both ends of the HR spectrum independently: sourcing and closing talent and then being a trusted, hands-on partner to the business as an HRBP.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition
- Own end-to-end recruitment for academic and non-academic roles, from role scoping and sourcing to interviews, offers and closures.
- Build and maintain a strong talent pipeline for both immediate and anticipated hiring needs, including planning around academic year hiring cycles.
- Partner with hiring managers and school leadership to understand role requirements and ensure a high-quality, timely hiring experience.
- Manage sourcing across multiple channels job boards, referrals, agencies and direct outreach and continuously improve time-to-hire and quality-of-hire.
- Ensure a smooth and positive candidate experience through every stage of the hiring process.
HR Business Partnering
- Act as a trusted point of contact for employees and managers on people matters performance, engagement, conflict resolution and day-to-day HR queries.
- Partner with leaders across the school to support organisational design, workforce planning and team effectiveness.
- Drive onboarding, induction and employee lifecycle processes to ensure a strong experience from joining to exit.
- Support performance management cycles, including goal-setting, appraisals and feedback processes.
- Help shape and implement HR policies that are fair, consistent and aligned with the culture and values of Ardee.
- Manage employee data, HR records and documentation with accuracy and confidentiality.
HR Operations, Tools & Data
- Work with HR systems and automation tools to streamline recruitment, onboarding and HR operations.
- Maintain and analyse HR data and dashboards (attrition, hiring funnels, headcount, etc.) using Excel and other HR tools to inform decisions.
- Identify opportunities to automate and simplify manual HR processes.

Someone who can independently manage the full breadth of both Talent Acquisition and HRBP work and who brings excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to every interaction, whether with a candidate, a teacher or a member of school leadership.
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 4+ years of relevant HR experience, spanning both Talent Acquisition and HR Business Partnering.
- Prior experience working in a school or similar education environment strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage full-cycle recruitment and HRBP responsibilities independently.
- Hands-on experience with HR tools, automation platforms and data management; strong proficiency in Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust across levels from staff to senior leadership.
- A degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
