We are looking for a 3D Modeling Specialist who is comfortable creating accurate, print-ready models for FDM 3D printing.
You will be given reference photos of real objects, products, or buildings, along with basic dimensions and project requirements. Your job is to recreate the object as a clean STL file that can be successfully 3D printed.
Some projects may also require designing around a light unit, including hollow interiors, bulb openings, wire channels, bases, or internal space for electronics.
Responsibilities:
- Create 3D models from reference photos and measurements
- Deliver clean, accurate, print-ready STL files
- Design models specifically for FDM 3D printing
- Understand wall thickness, overhangs, supports, tolerances, and printability
- Simplify small details when needed while keeping the overall design accurate
- Make revisions based on feedback
- Provide source files when requested
- Provide G-code when printer settings are given, if applicable
Requirements:
- Strong 3D modeling skills
- Comfortable modeling from reference photos
- Comfortable designing for FDM 3D printing
- Ability to create clean STL files
- Experience with software such as Blender, Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Rhino, Onshape, or similar
- Good attention to detail
- Clear communication and reliable turnaround times
Preferred:
- Experience with product modeling, architectural modeling, lamps, props, or reverse engineering
- Experience designing models with hollow interiors or light/electronic components
- Experience slicing models for 3D printing
