Clinical Application Specialist – MR (Integration & Verification)
As a Clinical Application Specialist within the MR Integration & Verification team, you will act as the clinical voice during the development and verification of Philips MR solutions. You will work closely with engineering, product management, system architects, and quality teams to ensure that MR applications, workflows, image quality, and user experiences meet clinical expectations and intended use requirements before release.
Your clinical expertise will help bridge the gap between product development and real-world clinical practice, ensuring that innovations deliver meaningful value to radiologists, technologists, and patients. The role combines hands-on MR expertise with product validation, usability evaluation, and clinical workflow optimization.
Your Role:
- Evaluate and validate new MR applications, software features, reconstruction algorithms, and workflow enhancements from a clinical perspective.
- Develop and execute clinical test plans, validation protocols, and acceptance criteria for MR products and applications.
- Assess image quality, protocol performance, quantitative outputs, and clinical usability across a broad range of MR examinations.
- Collaborate with software engineers, system architects, and product managers throughout the development lifecycle to ensure clinical requirements are appropriately translated into product features.
- Perform end-to-end workflow testing, including patient setup, scan execution, image reconstruction, post-processing, and reporting workflows.
- Identify clinical usability issues, workflow inefficiencies, and image quality concerns, and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
- Support verification and validation activities required for regulatory submissions and product releases.
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and root-cause investigations of clinically relevant defects.
- Create and maintain detailed test documentation, validation reports, and traceability records.
- Act as a subject matter expert for MR clinical workflows and imaging applications.
- Contribute to internal training activities and provide clinical guidance to development and testing teams.
- Monitor emerging clinical trends and help ensure future MR solutions align with evolving customer needs and healthcare practices.
You're the Right Fit If:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Radiography, Medical Imaging Technology, Biomedical Engineering, Medical Physics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5- 10 years of hands-on clinical MRI experience.
- Strong understanding of MR physics, pulse sequences, image contrast mechanisms, and clinical imaging protocols.
- Experience evaluating image quality and optimizing MRI workflows.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both clinical and technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
You will stand out if you also have:
Preferred Qualifications

- Prior experience in software verification, validation, testing, or product development environments.
- Knowledge of medical device quality systems and regulatory standards such as ISO 13485, IEC 62304, MDR, or FDA regulations.
- Experience with advanced MR applications including Diffusion, Perfusion, Spectroscopy, QSM, fMRI, Quantitative MRI, AI-based imaging, or image post-processing.
- Experience working in a tertiary care hospital, research institution, or MR applications role.
