We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused L1 Service Desk Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for all IT-related issues, providing essential technical support to our end-users. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills, a strong understanding of common IT systems, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. You will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving basic to intermediate technical problems, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations, and escalating complex issues to higher-tier support when necessary.
- Provide first-line technical support to end-users via phone, email, chat, and remote assistance tools.
- Log, categorize, prioritize, and track all incidents and service requests using the IT Service Management (ITSM) ticketing system.
- Troubleshoot and resolve common hardware and software issues, including desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals.
- Assist users with Microsoft Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11) and Microsoft Office Suite applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Perform basic Active Directory administration tasks, such as password resets, account unlocks, user creation, and group modifications.
- Provide support for network connectivity issues, including Wi-Fi, VPN, and basic LAN troubleshooting.
- Guide users through step-by-step solutions and provide clear, concise instructions.
- Escalate unresolved issues to L2/L3 support teams or specialized technical teams in a timely manner, ensuring proper documentation and handover.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all support interactions and resolutions in the ticketing system.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of knowledge base articles and technical documentation.
- Adhere to IT policies, procedures, and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Proactively identify trends in reported issues and suggest improvements to processes or systems.
- Participate in IT projects and initiatives as directed by management.
