Job Summary
The Purchase Head will lead the procurement function, developing and implementing strategies to manage strategic sourcing, vendor development, cost optimization, and supply planning. This role will have a significant impact on the company's bottom line and will report to the Senior Management. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Cold Room and Refrigeration materials, project BOQs, technical specifications, vendor networks, and commercial negotiations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business and project requirements, ensuring timely availability of materials without affecting project execution.
- Lead procurement for Cold Room, Cold Storage, Refrigeration, HVAC, and related projects, developing a strong understanding of technical materials and project requirements.
- Establish standard procurement processes, approval mechanisms, and vendor evaluation systems, monitoring procurement budgets to ensure purchases are within approved commercial limits.
- Negotiate with key vendors, controlling procurement costs and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Manage the purchase team, providing guidance and support to ensure effective procurement operations and supply chain management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, logistics, and finance, to ensure alignment and effective communication.
- Analyze market trends, vendor performance, and procurement data to identify areas for improvement and optimize procurement processes.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, ensuring reliable and efficient supply chain operations.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies, maintaining a high level of integrity and transparency in all procurement activities.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with procurement, developing contingency plans to minimize potential disruptions to the business.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate procurement processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in EngineeringSupply Chain Management or a related field with a minimum of 10-15 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management.
- Strong knowledge of Cold Room and Refrigeration materials project BOQs technical specifications vendor networks and commercial negotiations.
- Proven experience in managing procurement teamsdeveloping and implementing procurement strategiesand negotiating with vendors.
- Excellent communication interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to build strong relationships with vendors and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skillswith the ability to analyze dataidentify trendsand optimize procurement processes.
- Familiarity with industry-specific regulations standards and best practices including those related to cold chain and logistics management.
- Proficiency in procurement software and systems including ERP CRM and other relevant tools.
- Strong leadership and management skillswith the ability to motivate and guide team members to achieve procurement goals and objectives.
- Certifications in procurement or supply chain management such as CIPS or ISM are desirable but not mandatory.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in managing procurement operations in a cold chain or logistics environment.
- Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma principles, with experience in process improvement and optimization.
- Familiarity with data analytics and business intelligence tools, with the ability to analyze and interpret complex data sets.
- Experience in managing budgets and cost control, with a strong understanding of financial management principles.
- Certifications in related fields, such as engineering or logistics management.
Pay: ₹2,500,000.00 - ₹4,000,000.00 per year
