WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a Curriculum Specialist – Mathematics & Science - for primary grades, to design engaging and conceptually rich learning experiences for students in Grades 1–5.
The role requires a strong understanding of how children develop mathematical and scientific thinking during the primary years.
You will design curriculum resources that help students build deep conceptual understanding, apply knowledge in meaningful contexts, and develop confidence as learners.
Essential Qualifications:
- Relevant degree in Education and Masters in Mathematics / Science / Elementary Education, or a related field.
- Teaching experience (Math & Science) in primary grades.
- Minimum 3 years of curriculum development experience (including lesson plans, student-facing resources, assessments, and teacher-facing resources) in Mathematics and/or Science.
Preference will be given to candidates who have:
- Experience working across multiple grade levels between Grades 1-5.
- Experience developing inquiry-based and concept-based learning experiences.
- Familiarity with national and international curriculum frameworks for Mathematics and Science.
Note: A remote work arrangement may be available for exceptional candidates, subject to role requirements and organisational needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and develop the scope and sequence of units for primary Mathematics and Science, including the lesson progression within each unit.
- Apply domain expertise to create learning goals and engaging learning experiences that build conceptual understanding, mathematical reasoning, and scientific thinking.
- Ensure alignment between learning goals, instructional approaches, and assessments.
- Review and enhance lesson plans developed from scope and sequence documents to ensure academic rigour, real-world relevance, and the development of mathematical and scientific understanding.
- Collaborate with curriculum developers and teacher training teams to ensure coherence and progression across learning materials and grade levels.
- Observe classroom pilots of Mathematics and Science units and use implementation feedback to strengthen curriculum design and effectiveness.
- Stay informed about current research and best practices in Mathematics and Science education and incorporate relevant insights into curriculum development.
