Qualification: Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering
Responsible for identifying, developing, and managing vendors for casting and machining components to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage vendors for casting processes (sand casting, die casting, investment casting)
- Identify and onboard new vendors for casting and CNC machining components
- Evaluate vendor capability including foundry processes, machining capability, tooling, and capacity
- Conduct vendor audits focusing on casting quality, machining capability, and process control
- Ensure vendor compliance with quality standards (ISO / IATF)
- Handle RFQ process, cost estimation, and comparison for casting and machined parts
- Negotiate pricing, tooling cost, and development timelines
- Support new casting development (pattern, core, tooling validation)
- Coordinate with QA for casting defect analysis (porosity, shrinkage, cracks, blowholes, etc.)
- Monitor vendor performance (Quality, Cost, Delivery – QCD)
- Develop alternate sources for casting and machining components
- Maintain vendor documentation and performance records
- Ensure timely procurement and vendor follow-up
Key Skills Required:
- Strong knowledge of casting processes (sand casting, die casting, investment casting)
- Understanding of foundry practices, pattern making, and tooling
- Knowledge of casting defects and root cause analysis
- Basic understanding of CNC machining processes (VMC, HMC, turning)
- Vendor audit and development skills
- Negotiation and cost analysis
- Knowledge of quality tools (PPAP, APQP, 8D, SPC)
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel & ERP systems
