Key Responsibilities Take complete ownership of the multi-discipline engineering function (Process, Mechanical, Instrumentation & Piping) across all biogas upgradation, PSA/VPSA, and CBG plant projects — with full accountability for technical quality, documentation standards, and on-time delivery. Review, validate, and approve all P&IDs, process flow diagrams, equipment sizing calculations, and engineering data sheets before release. Elevate engineering quality across the team by implementing rigorous design validation, proper calculations, and standardized processes. Build, manage, and mentor the engineering team — including process engineers, mechanical engineers, and draftsmen — improving overall technical depth and delivery capability. Support project managers during detailed engineering, execution, and commissioning phases; act as the senior technical point of contact for project-specific engineering decisions. Work closely with the Managing Director on critical design decisions, technical problem-solving, and new technology development. Standardize design approaches, drawing templates, Manuals, SOPs and engineering documentation across all project types — reducing rework and improving consistency. Evaluate and recommend improvements in equipment selection across the plant scope — valves, pumps, scrubbers, vacuum systems, blowers, heat exchangers, and associated auxiliaries. Lead HAZOP studies for new plant designs; prepare cause-and-effect matrices in coordination with the instrumentation team and ensure PESO compliance. Own equipment RFQ preparation and vendor technical bid evaluation (TBE); review and approve vendor drawings before fabrication release. Provide engineering inputs and BOQ support for new project proposals and tenders. Required Qualifications & Skills Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineering. Experience: Minimum 15 years in engineering roles, with at least 4–5 years in a team leadership or department head capacity. Strong hands-on experience in equipment sizing and specification — pressure vessels, heat exchangers, scrubbers, compressors, blowers, and rotating equipment. Proven ability to review and approve P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and multi-discipline engineering documents. Experience leading HAZOP studies and working with safety interlock documentation. Familiarity with engineering standards including ASME, TEMA, IS, and API codes relevant to process plant design. Working knowledge of vendor management — RFQ preparation, technical bid evaluation, and vendor drawing approval. Proficiency in MS Office; AutoCAD knowledge is an advantage.
Preferred Experience • Prior experience in gas processing, industrial gas plants, oil & gas EPC, or energy sector projects. • Exposure to biogas upgradation, PSA/VPSA, or Compressed Biogas (CBG) plant engineering. • Experience building or structuring an engineering department — hiring, mentoring, and establishing workflows. • Background in proposal engineering — man-hour estimation, scope definition, and BOQ preparation. Candidate Profile • Based in Ahmedabad or willing to relocate immediately to Ahmedabad, Gujarat. • Willing to travel to project sites across India for commissioning support and technical reviews. • Strong leadership presence — capable of setting standards, holding the team accountable, and earning technical credibility from day one. • Collaborative working style with the ability to interface effectively with the Technical Director, project managers, and crossdiscipline engineering teams. • Self-driven and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, project-driven environment where ownership and initiative are expected.
