Stores & Logistics Officer – Engineering / Manufacturing Industry
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Store Manager to oversee end-to-end store operations in a fast-paced engineering/manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate should have strong exposure to engineering industry stores management, job work handling, scrap accounting, inventory control, and process-oriented operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesOverall Store Management
- Oversee the overall functioning of the store and ensure smooth day-to-day operations
- Develop and implement store policies, procedures, and operational controls
- Ensure proper material flow, storage, and dispatch management
Inventory Management
- Monitor and maintain optimum inventory levels of raw materials, consumables, and finished goods
- Conduct regular inventory audits and stock verification
- Minimize inventory discrepancies, wastage, and losses
- Maintain accurate stock records and system updates
Job Work & Scrap Management
- Handle job work material tracking, reconciliation, and documentation
- Monitor scrap generation, accounting, disposal, and reporting
- Ensure proper process control for inward and outward material movement
Staff Supervision & Team Management
- Supervise and guide store personnel on daily operations
- Conduct training, performance monitoring, and team development activities
- Foster a disciplined, safe, and productive work environment
Budgeting & Cost Control
- Support budgeting and monitor store-related expenses
- Implement cost-control measures and process improvements
- Analyze operational reports and inventory trends
Vendor & Procurement Coordination
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for timely procurement
- Maintain effective vendor relationships and ensure smooth material availability
- Follow up on delivery schedules and material quality
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with company policies and statutory requirements
- Maintain proper documentation and audit readiness
- Implement and monitor workplace safety practices within the stores area
Reporting & Coordination
- Prepare regular MIS reports related to inventory, consumption, scrap, and stock movement
- Coordinate effectively with Production, Purchase, Accounts, QA/QC, and other departments
- Communicate operational updates and resolve store-related issues promptly
Market & Process Awareness
- Stay updated on industry best practices and process improvements
- Suggest improvements for inventory management and operational efficiency
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in Store Management within Engineering / Manufacturing industry
- Experience handling job work processes and scrap accounting is mandatory
- Strong knowledge of inventory control, ERP systems, and store documentation
- Good leadership, coordination, and communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP software
