Responsible for setting, operating, and monitoring VMC and HMC machines for accurate and efficient production as per drawings, process sheets, and quality standards. The candidate should have good knowledge of machine setting, tool selection, offsets, fixture setting, and inspection of components.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate VMC and HMC CNC machines as per production requirements.
- Read and understand engineering drawings, process sheets, and work instructions.
- Perform tool selection, tool setting, tool offset, work offset, and fixture setting.
- Load and unload components correctly and ensure proper clamping.
- Check and adjust tool offsets, wear offsets, cutting parameters, and program coordinates.
- Monitor machining operations and maintain required production cycle times.
- Conduct first-piece inspection and in-process inspection using vernier caliper, micrometer, bore gauge, height gauge, and other measuring instruments.
- Identify and rectify basic machining defects such as dimensional variation, burrs, tool wear, and surface-finish issues.
- Coordinate with the Production, Quality, Tool Room, and Maintenance teams for smooth production.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of cutting tools, fixtures, gauges, and machine accessories.
- Follow 5S, safety procedures, work instructions, and quality standards.
- Maintain production records, rejection records, tool-life records, and machine-related documentation.
- Report machine abnormalities, tool problems, and quality issues to the concerned supervisor.
- Support preventive maintenance by keeping the machine clean and reporting abnormalities.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of VMC/HMC machine setting and operation.
- Knowledge of CNC machining processes and cutting tools.
- Ability to understand 2D engineering drawings and GD&T basics.
- Knowledge of G-code/M-code and CNC program understanding.
- Good knowledge of work and tool offsets.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of different machining operations such as milling, drilling, tapping, boring, reaming, and facing.
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of Fanuc / Mitsubishi / Siemens CNC controls will be an advantage.
- Ability to work in shifts and achieve production targets.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
