We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to oversee financial accounting, project costing, statutory compliance, and audit coordination within the construction industry. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain internal controls, support internal and external audits, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.
- Monitor project-wise accounting, job costing, and Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting.
- Reconcile bank accounts, vendor accounts, customer accounts, and intercompany balances.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors and ensure timely completion of audit requirements.
- Prepare audit schedules, supporting documentation, and responses to audit queries.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, GST, TDS, income tax, and other statutory requirements.
- Review accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, and fixed asset records.
- Monitor budget vs. actual project costs and identify cost variances.
- Strengthen internal financial controls and recommend process improvements.
- Assist in cash flow forecasting and financial planning.
- Support management with financial analysis, MIS reports, and decision-making.
- Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Coordinate with project managers and procurement teams for accurate project accounting.
- Maintain documentation in accordance with company policies and audit requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance,
- Minimum 5-8 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment.
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles and practices (GAAP).
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
