Job Summary
Skylink Fibernet Private Limited is looking for a Fiber Installation Engineer to handle FTTH/FTTx fiber installation, customer connectivity, fiber splicing, testing, troubleshooting, and network maintenance activities.
The candidate will be responsible for executing fiber installation activities efficiently, ensuring quality standards, meeting installation timelines, and maintaining reliable broadband connectivity for customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out FTTH/FTTx fiber installation for new customer connections.
- Perform fiber cable laying, routing, dressing, termination, and jointing.
- Conduct fiber optic splicing and termination using fusion splicing equipment.
- Install and configure ONT/ONU, Wi-Fi routers, and other CPE devices.
- Perform fiber testing using OTDR, Optical Power Meter, and VFL.
- Identify and troubleshoot fiber loss, attenuation, connector issues, and fiber cuts.
- Ensure proper installation of FAT, FDB, splitters, ODP, and other fiber network components.
- Test optical power levels and ensure connectivity meets required standards.
- Attend installation-related customer complaints and service requests.
- Coordinate with the NOC, Service Team, Team Leaders, and Network Operations Team for technical issues.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of the fiber network.
- Support network expansion, fiber rollout, and new area connectivity activities.
- Maintain installation records, test results, photographs, and job completion reports.
- Ensure all assigned installation and service tickets are completed within the defined SLA/TAT.
- Follow company safety procedures while working on poles, rooftops, ducts, and other field locations.
- Properly handle and maintain fiber tools, equipment, and company materials.
Technical Skills
- Good knowledge of FTTH / FTTx architecture.
- Knowledge of GPON / EPON technology is preferred.
- Understanding of OLT, ONT/ONU, Splitter, FAT, FDB, ODP, and fiber distribution systems.
- Hands-on experience in fusion splicing and fiber termination.
- Knowledge of OTDR, VFL, and Optical Power Meter.
- Basic knowledge of LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and Wi-Fi.
- Ability to configure and troubleshoot ONT/ONU and Wi-Fi routers.
- Ability to identify and resolve fiber connectivity and signal-loss issues.
Educational Qualification
- Diploma / ITI / B.E. / B.Tech in Telecommunication, Electronics, Electrical, Networking, or a related field.
- Candidates with relevant hands-on experience in fiber/telecom installation may also be considered.
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in FTTH, FTTx, ISP, Telecom, Fiber Optics, or Broadband installation.
- Freshers with relevant technical knowledge and willingness to work in the field may also apply.
Candidate Requirements
- Willingness to work in field locations and travel within the assigned service area.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and customer-handling skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a technical team.
- Physically fit and comfortable working at field locations, including outdoor and elevated areas.
- Two-wheeler and valid driving licence preferred.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
