A tandoor chef prepares and cooks tandoori dishes in a clay oven called a tandoor. They also ensure the tandoor is clean and safe, and that dishes are of consistent quality. Responsibilities
- Cooking: Prepare and cook tandoori dishes like kebabs, naan, and grilled meats
- Managing ingredients: Manage marinades, spice blends, and other ingredients
- Maintaining quality: Ensure dishes are of consistent quality and presentation
- Maintaining cleanliness: Keep the tandoor and work areas clean
- Following menu specifications: Follow menu specifications and recipes
- Supporting other chefs: Support the Chef de Partie or Demi Chef de Partie
- Controlling costs: Control food stock and costs
- Learning new techniques: Keep up with new products, recipes, and techniques
