Role Summary
The Senior Site Engineer is responsible for executing construction activities at site in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project schedules. The role involves coordination with project teams, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure timely and quality project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Execution & Supervision
- Execute construction works as per approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.
- Supervise day-to-day site activities and ensure work progresses as per schedule.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, foremen, and labor teams.
Quality Control
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and project specifications.
- Conduct inspections and ensure rectification of non-conformities.
- Coordinate with QA/QC teams and consultants for inspections and approvals.
Planning & Coordination
- Assist in preparing short-term and long-term work schedules.
- Coordinate with planning, billing, and quantity survey teams.
- Ensure availability of materials, manpower, and equipment at site.
Material & Resource Management
- Monitor material usage and minimize wastage.
- Verify material quality and ensure proper storage at site.
- Raise material requisitions as per project requirements.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure implementation of safety practices at site.
- Comply with statutory regulations and company safety policies.
- Conduct toolbox talks and ensure safe working conditions.
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain daily progress reports and site records.
- Assist in measurement works and coordination with billing engineers.
- Report project status, challenges, and risks to the Project Manager.
Team Leadership
- Guide junior engineers and site supervisors.
- Ensure discipline and productivity of site staff and labor.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of construction methods and site execution
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
- Good coordination and communication skills
- Knowledge of quality, safety, and site management practices
- Proficiency in MS Office and basic project documentation
Project Experience (Preferred)
- Commercial / Industrial
- Experience in high-rise or large-scale construction is an advantage
