Job Summary
The Maintenance Executive is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, safety, and upkeep of all cinema facilities, equipment, and utilities. This includes preventive and corrective maintenance of projection systems, sound equipment, HVAC systems, electrical installations, lighting, plumbing, seating, escalators/elevators (where applicable), and other building services. The role aims to provide an uninterrupted, safe, and comfortable movie-going experience for guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of all cinema facilities and equipment.
- Ensure the proper functioning of projection systems, audio equipment, digital displays, and associated infrastructure in coordination with technical vendors where required.
- Monitor and maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing, DG sets, UPS, fire alarm, firefighting systems, lifts/escalators, and other building services.
- Attend to maintenance requests and breakdowns promptly to minimize operational disruptions.
- Conduct daily inspections of auditoriums, lobby, concession areas, restrooms, offices, and common areas to identify maintenance issues.
- Coordinate with external service providers and contractors for annual maintenance contracts (AMCs), repairs, and statutory inspections.
- Maintain maintenance logs, equipment history, service records, and asset registers.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, fire, and statutory regulations.
- Monitor utility consumption (electricity, water, diesel) and recommend energy-saving initiatives.
- Ensure availability of critical spare parts and maintenance consumables.
- Support new equipment installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Assist during emergency situations, including power failures, equipment breakdowns, and fire safety incidents.
- Work closely with the Operations team to ensure all maintenance activities have minimal impact on guest experience.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- Certification in electrical safety, HVAC, or facility management is an added advantage.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in facility maintenance, engineering, hospitality, retail, malls, multiplexes, or commercial buildings.
- Experience with building management systems (BMS), HVAC, electrical systems, and fire safety equipment is preferred.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and facility maintenance.
- Basic understanding of cinema projection and audio systems is desirable.
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and coordination abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to breakdowns.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems (CMMS is an advantage).
