We are expanding our Milk Distribution Division and seeking an experienced and business-driven professional to lead operations, sales growth, distribution management, and customer expansion.
Job Summary
The Business Head – Milk Distribution will be responsible for managing the complete milk distribution business including procurement coordination, route operations, distributor/dealer management, customer acquisition, retail channel expansion, delivery systems, and profitability growth.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in dairy, FMCG distribution, retail supply chain, or milk delivery operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Growth & Strategy
- Develop and execute growth strategies for milk distribution operations.
- Expand customer base through residential, retail, and institutional channels.
- Increase subscription-based milk customers and recurring revenue.
- Identify new markets, delivery zones, and distribution opportunities.
Operations & Distribution Management
- Manage daily milk distribution and delivery operations efficiently.
- Ensure timely supply and smooth route management.
- Coordinate with procurement/vendors for uninterrupted stock availability.
- Monitor wastage, leakage, returns, and operational efficiency.
Team Leadership
- Lead delivery teams, supervisors, sales executives, and operational staff.
- Create performance KPIs and monitor team productivity.
- Conduct regular operational reviews and training sessions.
- Build a disciplined and customer-focused work culture.
Sales & Channel Development
- Develop partnerships with societies, apartments, retailers, cafes, and institutions.
- Manage distributor and dealer relationships.
- Drive B2B and retail sales growth for dairy and related products.
- Support cross-selling of organic grocery products to milk customers.
Customer Experience
- Ensure high customer satisfaction and service consistency.
- Resolve customer complaints and operational escalations promptly.
- Improve retention and customer engagement strategies.
Financial & Reporting Responsibilities
- Monitor profitability, operational costs, and route efficiency.
- Prepare business MIS reports and growth projections.
- Analyze sales data and optimize operational processes.
- Ensure achievement of revenue and margin targets.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Marketing, or related field.
- 5+ years experience in dairy, FMCG distribution, logistics, or retail operations.
- Strong leadership and operational management skills.
- Experience handling field staff and distribution networks.
- Excellent communication, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of route planning, delivery operations, and customer management.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experience in milk distribution, dairy brands, or subscription delivery models.
- Strong understanding of retail distribution systems.
- Ability to scale operational processes and manage daily execution.
