1. JobTitle: Mentor
2. Job Purpose: Mentor is tasked with spreading awareness and information about the various initiatives and programs being run by Pratham Education Foundation, in at least 50 village communities assigned to him/her. While ensuring the above community engagement, Mentor also closely aligns mobilization efforts to identify and reach out to interested youth (18-35 years), counsel, and motivate them for enrolling in skill development courses as per their interest. The role entails working closely with the respective Senior Mentors and Mentor Leaders as well as Center personnel, while traveling extensively and working long hours. At all times he/she has to ensure that mobilization operations are aligned with overall center planning, operations, and reporting.
3. Roles and Responsibilities:
1) Making rapport and creating networks with village and community stakeholders (i.e. Gram Pradhan, Gram Panchayat members, Schools, ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, SHGs, Bachat Gat, Yuvak Mandal, etc.) and engaging them in various initiatives and programs being run by Pratham Education Foundation under the ‘Education for Education’ initiative, along with Skill Development and other programs.
2) Identifying and developing youth volunteers (14-35 years) in at least 50 assigned villages. Further motivating and facilitating them in designing initiatives or conducting activities under the ‘Education for Education’ initiative, for the overall development of the village, especially women, children, adolescents, and youth.
3) Counsel youth (18-35 years) in assigned 50 villages so that they feel motivated in registering and enrolling for skill development courses as per their keen interest.
4) Spreading awareness by creating a network of Volunteer-based community leaders ( i.e. Rojgaar Saathi etc.) and organizing events, and melas at the village/taluka level for implementing skill development campaigns at the ground level.
5) Exploring new ventures and collaborations with Govt bodies, and NGO Partners in the respective areas.
6) Consciously he/she should model himself/herself, as well as promote a workplace culture that is consistent with the official ‘Code of Conduct’ and emphasizes the mission, vision, guiding principles, and values of the organization.
7) At all times he/she shall be conscious-of and promote ‘Gender Sensitivity’ and ‘Gender Equality’ in all means of communication ( like verbal, non-verbal, written, etc.) and actions, in official premises, on field or while interacting with trainees, staff, community stakeholders, Govt. organizations, other organizations or entities.
4. Skills required:
1) Excellent Communication & Interpersonal/People Skills in the local language, including having a good listening ability with an emphatic outlook.
2) Being a Team Player, along with having a proactive, innovative, and positive mindset.
3) Must have Mentoring and Counseling skills.
4) Having Planning and Networking skills.
5) Must be able to resolve situations, using a flexible and problem-solving approach.
6) Having a basic understanding of technical and digital skills, you can use different applications (like Mobilization App), portals, dashboards, etc., for planning daily work, filling data online, and other reporting purposes.
7) Basic understanding of data, to plan strategies for furthering community engagement and mobilization in respective areas through the use of dashboards.
8) Basic understanding of conducting and leading training as a Facilitator.
9) Theability to handle multiple roles and activities at a given time.
10) Basic understanding of various mediums of communication, for reaching out to various community stakeholders, including Social-media.
5. Essential and Desirable criteria
1) Minimum Educational Qualification: Intermediate (10th) pass
2) Age Criteria: 20-50 years
3) Minimum of 2 years of work experience, but young and dynamic freshers are also welcome.
4) Preference shall be accorded to candidates with their vehicle, with proper registration and other documents, along with required safety gear.
5) Preference shall be accorded to candidates with smartphones.
6. Parameters for appraisals:
1) Youth registration and enrollment from the 50 assigned villages (Power BI )
2) Target Vs Enrollment Ratio- Registration (Dashboard)
3) Village Reach: Number of villages reached of the assigned 50 villages through various Pratham Education Foundation initiatives under a given timeline (Dashboard)
4) Daily Attendance / SMS : (Daily Jotform)
5) Sensitivity in handling serious/critical issues
6) Innovations brought under the various initiatives under the ‘Education For Education’ program
7) Average Youth Leader created per village
8) Proper execution of batch planning
9) Drop-out ratio
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
