Key Responsibilities,
- Preparation of BBS
- Prepare accurate Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) as per approved structural drawings and specifications.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes and project standards.
- Quantity Estimation
- Calculate reinforcement steel quantities for all structural elements such as footings, columns, beams, slabs, walls, staircases, and retaining walls.
- Prepare steel reconciliation statements and monitor steel consumption.
- Drawing Review
- Review structural drawings, reinforcement details, and revisions.
- Identify discrepancies or missing information and coordinate with the design consultant for clarification.
- Site Coordination
- Coordinate with the site engineering team to ensure reinforcement is cut, bent, and fixed according to the approved BBS.
- Provide technical support to site engineers and bar bending yard personnel.
- Material Planning
- Prepare steel procurement requirements based on construction schedules.
- Optimize bar lengths to minimize wastage and improve material utilization.
- Quality Assurance
- Verify reinforcement installation before concrete pouring.
- Ensure reinforcement complies with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Steel Reconciliation
- Track steel receipts, consumption, balance stock, and wastage.
- Prepare periodic steel reconciliation reports for management.
- Change Management
- Update BBS based on revised drawings and approved design changes.
- Maintain proper revision control and documentation.
- Documentation
- Maintain records of BBS, cutting lists, steel consumption reports, and reinforcement-related documents.
- Support billing and client documentation with reinforcement quantity records.
- Software Utilization
- Prepare BBS using Microsoft Excel and relevant software such as AutoCAD, RebarCAD, Tekla Structures, or other BBS applications.
- Ensure data accuracy and version control.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of RCC reinforcement detailing.
- Proficiency in reading structural and reinforcement drawings.
- Good understanding of IS codes and construction standards.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and AutoCAD.
- Familiarity with BBS software (Tekla, RebarCAD, etc.).
- Strong analytical and quantity calculation skills.
- Good coordination and communication abilities.
Pay: From ₹240,000.00 per year
