Job Purpose
The Costing Executive will be responsible for preparing and maintaining accurate product and process costings, analysing cost components, validating vendor quotations, monitoring margins, and supporting the Finance and Business teams in making informed pricing and profitability decisions.
Key Responsibilities1. Product & Product Costing
- Prepare detailed costing sheets for products based on raw materials, trims, packaging, labour, manufacturing, logistics, and other applicable costs.
- Calculate product-wise landed cost and gross margins.
- Review and update costing based on changes in material prices, vendor rates, production costs, and other cost elements.
- Ensure costing is accurate and completed within defined timelines.
- Maintain a systematic database of product-wise costings and revisions.
2. Vendor & Purchase Cost Analysis
- Review vendor quotations and compare rates against approved cost benchmarks.
- Validate raw material, trims, packaging, job-work, and other vendor-related costs.
- Identify cost variations and highlight significant deviations to the Finance/Business team.
- Coordinate with Procurement, Merchandising, Production, and vendors for clarification and validation of costing inputs.
3. Pricing & Margin Analysis
- Support the Finance and Business teams in determining appropriate selling prices based on cost and target margins.
- Analyse product-wise profitability and contribution margins.
- Prepare cost-versus-price analysis for new and existing products.
- Highlight products with abnormal or low margins and provide relevant cost insights.
4. Cost Variance & MIS
- Monitor actual costs against standard/budgeted costs and identify variances.
- Prepare periodic costing and variance reports for management review.
- Analyse reasons for cost fluctuations and support corrective action.
- Maintain accurate MIS related to product costing, margins, and cost movements.
5. Inventory & Cost Validation
- Coordinate with Inventory, Stores, Production, and Finance teams to ensure accurate valuation of inventory and cost components.
- Support reconciliation of material consumption, production costs, and inventory-related costing data.
- Assist in identifying discrepancies between planned and actual material consumption/costs.
6. Process & Documentation
- Ensure all costing calculations are supported by proper documentation and approvals.
- Maintain records of revised costings, vendor rates, price changes, and cost assumptions.
- Support internal and external audits by providing relevant costing data and documentation.
- Identify opportunities for improving costing accuracy and reducing manual errors.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in costing, finance, commercial finance, or management accounting.
- Experience in fashion/apparel/textile, retail, manufacturing, or D2C will be preferred.
- Strong knowledge of MS Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and basic financial analysis.
- Good understanding of product costing, margins, cost structures, and variance analysis.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of ERP/accounting systems will be an added advantage.

Pay: ₹350,000.00 - ₹400,000.00 per year
