1. Description of the Job
Integrated into the Engineering Direction of Safran Electronics and Defense as a System engineer, you will be responsible for the development of electronic systems and equipment over the whole V cycle.
You will work in coordination with the internal project manager and in close collaboration with the local development engineers. In this role, you will be responsible for the definition of the requirements, the definition of the product architecture, the design, the implementation, and the integration of product functions, and finally the formal verification of system requirements.
2. System Engineering Responsibilities and Technical Skillset
- Collect and validate customers and other stakeholders Requirements
- Develop System level requirements including cross-functional allocation (Hardware/Firmware/Software/Mechanical)
- Develop functional and system level architecture
- Hands-on experience in Requirement management tools such as UML/SysML, DOORS and Polarion.
- Experience in Control system design, validation and analysis, preferable Motor Drive control applications -Model based Design using Matlab/Simulink
- Hands-on experience in System Integration and Requirement based verification including development of test procedures.
- Ability to perform interface-level debugging using tools such as logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, and oscilloscopes
- Knowledge of communication protocols such as SPI, RS422/485, CAN, ARINC 429, MIL1553 (protocol understanding, timing analysis, message framing, error detection)
- Knowledge of sensors such as Resolver, RVDT, and LVDT interface principles - Position/angle/linear displacement measurement, Excitation/demodulation
- Knowledgeable in industry standards including ARP4754, ARP4761, DO254 and DO178C
- Knowledge of System Safety analysis and Failure Mode Effect analysis, Fault Tree analysis etc.
