Job Summary
We are looking for a technically strong Senior Engineer – Production with relevant experience in Furniture Manufacturing / Interior Production Shopfloor. The candidate will be responsible for production execution, process improvement, technical problem-solving, productivity enhancement, and coordination with various departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor production processes on the furniture manufacturing shopfloor.
- Ensure production is executed as per approved drawings, BOM, specifications, and production plans.
- Coordinate with Design, PPC, Quality, Stores, Purchase, and Production teams.
- Study production drawings and identify technical or manufacturing-related issues.
- Provide technical support to supervisors and shopfloor teams.
- Monitor production processes including CNC cutting, panel processing, edge banding, drilling, assembly, fabrication, finishing, and packing.
- Improve production processes to increase productivity and reduce rejection and rework.
- Monitor machine utilization, manpower productivity, material consumption, and production efficiency.
- Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure proper sequence of production activities to achieve delivery timelines.
- Support new product/process development and production trials.
- Prepare production reports, process reports, and productivity analysis.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and approved specifications.
- Implement 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and safety practices wherever applicable.
- Train and guide supervisors and operators regarding production processes and technical requirements.
- Support troubleshooting of machine and process-related issues.
- Maintain proper documentation related to production processes and improvements.
Required Skills
- Strong experience in Furniture Manufacturing / Interior Production.
- Excellent knowledge of furniture manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read and interpret production drawings.
- Knowledge of CNC machines and woodworking machinery.
- Strong understanding of production planning and process optimization.
- Knowledge of BOM, material consumption, productivity, and process control.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong coordination and team-handling abilities.
- Working knowledge of MS Excel and production MIS.
- Knowledge of 5S / Lean Manufacturing / Kaizen will be an advantage.
Qualification :
Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical / Production Engineering or related discipline preferred.
