We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead Backend to join our engineering team at Wexa AI. In this role, you will lead the design and development of scalable backend systems that power our AI-driven recruitment platform. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to architect robust solutions, mentor engineers, and drive technical excellence across our backend infrastructure. Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 8+ years of experience in backend development with at least 2 years in a technical leadership role
- Strong expertise in backend programming languages such as Python, Java, Node.js, or Go
- Proven experience designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices architectures
- Deep understanding of database technologies including SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Strong knowledge of system design, scalability patterns, and distributed systems
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to mentor and lead engineering teams
- Strong backgroud in Gen AI, RAG, langchain, Graph DBs, SQL , NoSQL databases.
- Experience working on PoC's is good to have
- Strong expertise in system design , architectural design patterns
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable backend services and APIs that support our AI-powered recruitment platform
- Architect and implement robust, high-performance backend systems using modern technologies and best practices
- Mentor and guide a team of backend engineers, conducting code reviews and fostering a culture of technical excellence
- Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and AI/ML teams to define technical requirements and deliver features
- Optimize database schemas, queries, and system performance to handle growing scale and complexity
- Establish and enforce coding standards, development processes, and quality assurance practices
- Drive technical decision-making for backend architecture, technology stack, and infrastructure choices
- Troubleshoot complex production issues and implement solutions to ensure system reliability and uptime
