Job Title: Retail Pharmacist (Sales & Dispensing)
About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Pharmacist who combines strong pharmaceutical knowledge with excellent sales skills. The ideal candidate should understand medicine salts, common diseases, and treatment categories while actively helping customers choose appropriate products and driving pharmacy growth through ethical selling.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription medicines accurately and in compliance with applicable regulations.
- Possess strong knowledge of generic salts, branded medicines, therapeutic alternatives, and common disease conditions.
- Counsel customers on medicine usage, dosage, precautions, and basic health queries.
- Identify customer needs and recommend suitable OTC products, wellness items, supplements, and healthcare solutions where appropriate.
- Achieve monthly sales and business targets while maintaining high ethical standards.
- Cross-sell and upsell relevant products based on customer requirements without compromising patient safety.
- Promote high-margin products, private labels, and wellness categories where clinically appropriate.
- Build long-term customer relationships through excellent service and product knowledge.
- Maintain inventory, expiry checks, and stock rotation to minimize losses.
- Coordinate with doctors, diagnostic centers, and healthcare partners when required.
- Ensure compliance with all pharmacy regulations and maintain proper documentation.
Required Qualifications
- D.Pharm or B.Pharm from a recognized institution.
- Valid pharmacist registration/license as required by local regulations.
- 1–5 years of experience in retail pharmacy preferred.
Desired Skills
- Strong understanding of medicine salts, substitutions, and therapeutic classes.
- Knowledge of common diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, fever, infections, allergies, gastric disorders, pain management, and vitamin deficiencies.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Sales-oriented mindset with the ability to meet targets and contribute to business growth.
- Ability to identify appropriate opportunities for cross-selling and recommending healthcare products responsibly.
- Familiarity with pharmacy billing software and inventory management systems.
- Team player with a proactive and result-driven attitude.
