JOB TITLE: Factory Operations Manager – Steel Fabrication
Location: Howra , west bengal , ankurhati
Salary: 10000 - 35000
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly driven Factory Operations Manager to take complete ownership of our steel fabrication operations. This role is not suited for someone who simply supervises from a desk or delegates tasks. We are looking for an individual who treats the factory as their own business, personally ensuring that every aspect of operations runs smoothly and efficiently.
The ideal candidate will be hands-on, proactive, solution-oriented, and capable of identifying and closing operational gaps before they become problems. From material procurement and production planning to dispatch coordination and daily operational issues, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that work gets done—not merely assigning it to others.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the complete factory operation from raw material procurement to final dispatch.
- Plan and monitor production schedules to ensure timely completion of orders.
- Coordinate material requirements, procurement planning, inventory levels, and vendor follow-ups.
- Ensure smooth workflow between design, procurement, production, quality, logistics, and dispatch.
- Monitor manpower utilization, machine loading, and production efficiency.
- Track every job through the factory and proactively remove bottlenecks.
- Ensure loading and dispatch activities happen on time, including coordination with drivers, transporters, and site teams.
- Maintain production reports, delivery schedules, and operational dashboards.
- Take immediate ownership of urgent customer requirements and delivery commitments.
- Identify process improvements to increase productivity, reduce wastage, and improve profitability.
- Enforce quality, safety, housekeeping, and operational discipline throughout the facility.
- Act as the central point of coordination for all factory-related activities.
What We Are Looking For
- Strong experience in steel fabrication, structural steel, industrial manufacturing, or construction-related production environments.
- Excellent understanding of production planning, fabrication processes, procurement, dispatch, and workflow management.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure.
- Strong leadership skills combined with a willingness to personally get involved whenever required.
- High sense of accountability and ownership.
- Practical problem-solving mindset with a "find a solution" attitude.
- Comfortable handling both strategic planning and day-to-day operational issues.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.

The successful candidate must take ownership of every aspect of operations, whether it involves production planning, material shortages, dispatch delays, vendor follow-up, manpower issues, machine breakdowns, or ensuring a vehicle arrives for loading. The role requires a hands-on leader who fills gaps, solves problems, and drives execution until the job is complete.
Experience Preferred
- 8+ years in fabrication, manufacturing, structural steel, EPC, construction support, or industrial operations.
- Prior responsibility for managing end-to-end factory operations is highly desirable.
