The Primary & Junior English Teacher is responsible for creating an engaging, student-centered learning environment that develops students' proficiency in English language and literature. The teacher will promote reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, vocabulary, and communication skills while nurturing creativity, critical thinking, and a love for literature.
Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the CBSE curriculum.
- Develop students' proficiency in:
- Reading comprehension
- Creative and academic writing
- Grammar and language usage
- Vocabulary development
- Listening and speaking skills
- Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, assessments, and enrichment activities.
- Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning needs.
- Integrate storytelling, debates, role plays, drama, and language games into teaching.
- Encourage extensive reading through library activities and reading programs.
- Foster higher-order thinking and effective communication skills.
Classroom Management
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and disciplined classroom environment.
- Establish classroom routines and expectations.
- Promote respect, collaboration, and student participation.
- Ensure students' safety and well-being at all times.
Student Assessment
- Design formative and summative assessments.
- Evaluate assignments, projects, notebooks, and presentations.
- Maintain accurate academic records.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback.
- Identify students requiring additional support and implement intervention strategies.
Student Development
- Encourage confidence in spoken and written English.
- Develop public speaking and presentation skills.
- Support students in competitions such as:
- Elocution
- Debate
- Essay Writing
- Creative Writing
- Storytelling
- Spell Bee
- Poetry Recitation
- Promote values, ethics, and global citizenship through literature.
Parent Communication
- Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress.
- Attend Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs).
- Provide recommendations for academic improvement.
- Respond professionally to parent queries.
Curriculum Development
- Participate in curriculum planning and review.
- Prepare annual planners and weekly lesson plans.
- Develop innovative teaching resources.
- Contribute to school academic initiatives.
Co-Curricular Responsibilities
- Organize literary activities and language events.
- Support school assemblies and special programs.
- Mentor English Club activities.
- Participate in school events and educational trips as assigned.
Professional Responsibilities
- Attend staff meetings and professional development programs.
- Stay updated with CBSE guidelines and best teaching practices.

- Complete assigned duties within timelines.
QualificationsEssential
- Bachelor's Degree in English or related discipline.
- B.Ed. (Mandatory)
- Excellent command of spoken and written English.
- Strong classroom management skills.
Preferred
- Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in Primary and/or Junior School
- Master's Degree in English.
- CBSE school experience.
- Cambridge English certification (desirable).
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
