Description:
The role is responsible for leading and governing mechanical engineering activities supporting pharmaceutical manufacturing operations. The role ensures engineering design integrity, installation oversight, validated operation, and optimization of mechanical systems and utilities in compliance with quality, safety, regulatory, cost, and performance standards. It involves interpreting engineering drawings, layouts, and technical specifications, monitoring execution outcomes, and ensuring audit-ready operations. The position provides technical and people leadership, drives maintenance excellence, project execution, vendor management, and continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures alignment with established engineering standards, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
Essential Functions:
- Lead and oversee mechanical engineering and utilities operations across manufacturing facilities
- Ensure design compliance, installation oversight, and qualification of mechanical systems
- Guide teams on operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities
- Review and approve engineering layouts, drawings, and technical documentation
- Ensure validation, qualification, and validation reporting compliance
- Drive preventive and corrective maintenance planning and execution
- Manage engineering projects, timelines, and resource allocation
- Monitor system performance, quality, safety, and cost effectiveness
- Ensure regulatory compliance and audit readiness
- Manage vendors, contractors, and procurement activities
- Implement continuous improvement, innovation, and sustainability initiatives
