Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Release Manager to lead and govern end-to-end release processes for a Salesforce-based SaaS platform. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring predictable, high-quality, and controlled software releases while coordinating across Product, Engineering, QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders.
This role requires strong expertise in release planning, deployment governance, CI/CD processes, source control management, risk mitigation, and stakeholder communication within a complex, multi-team environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesRelease Planning & Governance
- Define release scope in collaboration with Product and Engineering teams.
- Develop and maintain release schedules, milestones, and dashboards.
- Track progress of release commitments and manage scope changes.
- Coordinate release readiness reviews and Go/No-Go decisions.
Quality & Release Readiness
- Ensure all release items meet Definition of Done requirements.
- Verify completion of code reviews, testing, accessibility compliance, and deployment prerequisites.
- Maintain traceability between requirements, code changes, testing, and release artifacts.
- Coordinate release validation activities across teams.
Source Control & Deployment Management
- Manage branching strategies and code freeze processes.
- Maintain release versioning, tagging, and deployment records.
- Ensure proper packaging and deployment of release artifacts.
- Support audit, compliance, and governance requirements.
Risk & Environment Management
- Identify, track, and mitigate release risks and dependencies.
- Coordinate environment readiness and deployment preparation activities.
- Develop rollback and contingency plans for production releases.
- Proactively escalate critical issues affecting release timelines.
CI/CD & Process Improvement
- Monitor and improve CI/CD pipeline health and deployment processes.
- Drive release automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Partner with DevOps teams to enhance deployment efficiency and reliability.
- Establish and maintain release management best practices.
Stakeholder Communication
- Provide regular release status updates to leadership and stakeholders.
- Maintain visibility into release scope, risks, timelines, and dependencies.
- Facilitate cross-functional coordination across Product, Engineering, QA, and Operations teams.
Required Qualifications
- 9+ years of experience in Release Management, Program Management, or Software Delivery.
- Experience managing releases in Salesforce and SaaS environments.
- Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and release governance.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
- Strong knowledge of Git, branching strategies, version control, and source code management.
- Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitLab, or similar tools.
- Proven ability to manage multiple releases and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and risk management skills.
