As an Automation Engineer based in our Gurugram office, you will strengthen and scale our automation capabilities across web, API and database layers, working closely with product, development and QA teams to embed quality early in the delivery pipeline.

- Design, develop and maintain robust automated test suites for web applications using Core Java and Selenium WebDriver with best-practice framework patterns.
- Implement Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) test cases and step definitions using Cucumber to translate requirements and user stories into executable scenarios.
- Lead API and microservice testing efforts using REST clients and automation tools (e.g., REST Assured, Postman) to validate functional, contract and error-handling behavior.
- Perform database testing and data validation using SQL against relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) to ensure data integrity and correct persistence behavior.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/GitLab CI) and collaborate with DevOps to enable reliable build and release automation.
- Author clear, reusable test automation frameworks, maintain test data strategies, and ensure tests are stable, performant and maintainable.
- Analyze test failures, provide actionable defect reports, collaborate with developers to triage issues, and verify fixes through regression automation.
- Mentor junior QA engineers, contribute to test planning, participate in sprint ceremonies, and drive continuous improvement in test processes and quality metrics.
- Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in test automation, quality engineering or related roles.
- Proven experience with Core Java and object-oriented programming used to build automation frameworks.
- Strong experience with Selenium WebDriver for web UI automation and familiarity with Selenium best practices.
- Experience implementing BDD frameworks and writing feature files and step definitions with Cucumber.
- Solid experience in API testing and automation using tools/libraries such as REST Assured, Postman, or equivalent.
- Proficient in database testing and writing SQL queries for data validation across relational databases.
- Experience with build and dependency tools (Maven/Gradle), unit/test frameworks (TestNG or JUnit) and version control (Git).
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI) and integrating automated tests into pipelines.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills; ability to work collaboratively in Agile teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience testing microservices architectures and familiarity with contract testing and API schema validation.
- Hands-on experience with REST Assured, JSON schema validation and authentication mechanisms (OAuth, JWT).
- Knowledge of performance or load testing tools (JMeter, Gatling) and capacity to contribute to non-functional test efforts.
- Exposure to containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and testing in cloud environments (AWS, Azure).
- Familiarity with test management tools (TestRail, Zephyr) and defect tracking systems (JIRA).
- Professional certifications such as ISTQB or equivalent testing certifications.
- Experience building modular, data-driven automation frameworks and applying design patterns for test code.
