Hospital: Sidhartha Nursing Home Global Fertility Innovations
Location: Nellore, Andhra Pradesh
Role Summary
We are looking for a qualified and detail-oriented Pharmacist to manage our hospital pharmacy. Unlike general pharmacy roles, this position requires strict expertise in handling Cold Chain medications (Hormones/Injections) and high-value IVF inventory. You will be responsible for ensuring that the right medication reaches the right patient at the exact time required for their fertility cycle.
Key Responsibilities
1. Dispensing & Patient Counseling
- Accurately dispense medications based on doctor prescriptions, checking specifically for dosage variations (e.g., 75 IU vs 150 IU injections).
- Patient Education: Clearly explain to patients how to store medicines (especially those needing refrigeration) and, if required, explain the usage of injection pens/kits.
- Verify patient details 3 times before handing over medication, as hormonal errors can lead to a cancelled IVF cycle.
2. Cold Chain & Inventory Management (Critical)
- Temperature Control: Monitor and record refrigerator temperatures daily (2°C – 8°C) to ensure the potency of Gonadotropins and other fertility injections.
- Stock Management: Implement FEFO (First Expired, First Out) logic strictly to prevent expiry of expensive IVF drugs.
- Conduct weekly stock audits to identify shortages of critical emergency drugs or fast-moving stimulation injections.
3. Procurement & Purchase Orders
- Coordinate with medical representatives and distributors to ensure timely delivery of stock.
- Verify invoices against physical stock received and update the Hospital Management System (HMS).
- Alert the Operations Manager immediately regarding near-expiry or slow-moving high-value stock.
4. Regulatory Compliance
- Maintain the narcotic/H1 drug register as per the Drugs and Cosmetics Act.
- Ensure the pharmacy license and pharmacist registration certificates are displayed and up to date.
Requirements
- Qualification: B.Pharm, D.Pharm, or M.Pharm from a recognized university.
- Licensure: Must possess a valid Registered Pharmacist license from the Andhra Pradesh State Pharmacy Council.
- Experience: 1–3 years preferred. Experience in a hospital setup or handling fertility/oncology drugs (Cold Chain) is a major advantage.
- Skills:
- Knowledge of brand names vs. generic names of Gynaecology drugs.
- Basic computer skills for billing and inventory software.
- Fluency in Telugu and English.
Key Traits for Our Hospital
- Integrity: IVF medications are expensive; we require absolute honesty in stock handling.
- Precision: There is zero room for error in dosage
- Calmness: Ability to handle peak hours (usually mornings during scan timings) efficiently.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
