Job Summary:
The Vehicle Maintenance Technician is responsible for inspecting, servicing, repairing, and maintaining cars, trucks, or other vehicles to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. The role includes diagnosing mechanical issues, performing preventive maintenance, and keeping accurate service records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and preventive maintenance.
- Change engine oil, filters, and other fluids.
- Inspect and repair brakes, steering, suspension, and exhaust systems.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic tools.
- Repair or replace defective parts and components.
- Conduct engine, transmission, and cooling system repairs.
- Perform tire rotation, balancing, alignment, and replacement.
- Test vehicles after repairs to ensure proper performance.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
- Follow workplace safety procedures and manufacturer guidelines.
- Keep the workshop clean and organized.
- Report major repair needs and recommend replacement parts.
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of automotive systems and repair techniques.
- Ability to use diagnostic equipment and hand tools.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certificate or diploma in Automotive/Vehicle Maintenance (preferred).
- Experience in vehicle servicing and repairs (1–2 years preferred).
- Valid driver's license (preferred).
