Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to ensure that machined components meet customer specifications, engineering drawings, and quality standards. The Quality Inspector will perform in-process and final inspections, maintain inspection records, and work closely with production teams to ensure product quality and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect machined parts during and after production using precision measuring instruments.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T symbols, and quality specifications.
- Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections.
- Verify dimensions, tolerances, surface finish, and visual quality requirements.
- Use inspection equipment such as:
- Vernier Calipers
- Micrometers (Inside/Outside)
- Height Gauges
- Bore Gauges
- Dial Indicators
- Thread Gauges
- Plug Gauges and Ring Gauges
- Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) (if applicable)
- Record inspection results and maintain quality documentation.
- Identify and report non-conforming products and assist in root cause analysis.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and customer quality requirements.
- Monitor calibration status of measuring instruments.
- Support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Coordinate with CNC/VMC operators, supervisors, and production teams to resolve quality issues.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of machining processes including CNC Turning, VMC, Milling, and Drilling.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Knowledge of quality control procedures and inspection methods.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments.
- Good documentation and reporting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Basic computer skills (MS Excel, inspection reports, ERP systems).
Qualifications
- ITI/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Tool & Die, or related field.
- 2–5 years of experience as a Quality Inspector in a machine shop, CNC/VMC machining environment, or manufacturing industry.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CMM operation and reporting.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or other quality management systems.
- Familiarity with SPC (Statistical Process Control), PPAP, FAI, and CAPA processes.
- Experience in automotive, aerospace, or precision engineering industries.

- First-pass acceptance rate.
- Reduction in customer complaints and rejections.
- Inspection accuracy and documentation compliance.
- On-time completion of inspections.
- Reduction in internal scrap and rework.
