Chief of Sales / Head – Sales

Role Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Chief of Sales / Head – Sales to lead our sales organization and drive business growth across domestic and international markets. The ideal candidate will be responsible for formulating and executing sales strategies, expanding market presence, developing key customer relationships, and delivering sustainable revenue growth within the Machine Manufacturing, Special Purpose Machines (SPM), Industrial Automation, and Engineering Solutions sectors.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Sales Leadership
- Develop and execute short-term and long-term sales strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
- Drive revenue growth through new customer acquisition, strategic account management, and market expansion initiatives.
- Identify emerging business opportunities, industry trends, and competitive market dynamics.
- Establish and strengthen relationships with OEMs, EPC companies, system integrators, distributors, and key industrial customers.
- Develop go-to-market strategies for new products, solutions, and target segments.
Business Development & Market Expansion
- Expand the company's footprint across existing and new geographical markets.
- Identify and penetrate high-growth industry verticals and strategic customer segments.
- Lead major business development initiatives and strategic partnerships.
- Drive growth in domestic as well as international markets.
Sales Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop Regional Sales Managers, Area Sales Managers, Sales Engineers, and Business Development teams.
- Define sales KPIs, performance metrics, and incentive programs.
- Foster a high-performance, customer-centric sales culture.
- Support talent acquisition, training, succession planning, and capability enhancement within the sales organization.
Customer & Commercial Management
- Lead techno-commercial discussions, negotiations, and closure of high-value projects and contracts.
- Build long-term relationships with strategic customers and key stakeholders.
- Oversee pricing strategies, commercial terms, contract management, and sales forecasting.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Applications, Operations, Service, and Project teams to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction.
Business Planning & Performance Management
- Prepare annual sales plans, budgets, forecasts, and business growth strategies.
- Monitor sales performance, profitability, order pipeline, collections, and market share.
- Drive data-driven decision-making through sales analytics, CRM systems, and market intelligence.
- Present business reviews and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
Desired Skills & Competencies
- Proven leadership experience in industrial B2B sales and business development.
- Strong understanding of Machine Manufacturing, Special Purpose Machines (SPM), Industrial Automation, Robotics, or Capital Equipment industries.
- Excellent strategic planning, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth and market expansion.
- Strong commercial acumen and customer relationship management capabilities.
- Ability to lead large sales teams across multiple regions.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
Qualifications & Experience
- B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or related Engineering discipline.
- MBA in Marketing, Sales, or Business Management preferred.
- 20+ years of experience in Industrial Sales, Business Development, or Commercial Leadership.
- Minimum 10–12 years of experience in senior leadership roles such as National Sales Head, Regional Sales Head, Business Head, or Sales Director.
- Experience handling domestic and/or international markets is highly preferred.
