Role Overview
The Purchase Executive will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring raw materials, components, and services required for mechanical manufacturing operations. The role focuses on cost optimization, quality assurance, and timely availability of materials while aligning closely with Production Planning & Control (PPC) to ensure uninterrupted production flow. Hands-on experience with ERP-based Supply Chain Management (SCM) systems is essential.

Key Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers for mechanical components, raw materials (steel, castings, fasteners, etc.), and services.
- Obtain quotations, perform techno-commercial comparisons, and negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
- Create and manage Purchase Orders (POs) through ERP systems and ensure accurate documentation.
- Coordinate closely with the PPC team to understand production schedules, material requirements, and prioritize procurement accordingly.
- Monitor inventory levels, safety stock, and lead times to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Track order status, follow up with vendors, and ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Ensure all procured materials meet required quality standards, technical specifications, and compliance requirements.
- Work with Quality and Stores teams to resolve issues related to rejections, delays, or discrepancies.
- Maintain updated records of suppliers, pricing history, and procurement data within ERP systems.
- Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure long-term reliability and performance.
- Analyze procurement trends and prepare reports on cost savings, supplier performance, and inventory management.
- Support audits by maintaining proper documentation and compliance with company policies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Proven experience in procurement within a mechanical/manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical components, raw materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Mandatory experience in ERP-based SCM systems (such as SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Working knowledge of Production Planning & Control (PPC) and material requirement planning (MRP).
- Strong negotiation, vendor management, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and data analysis.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with Production, Quality, and Stores teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in cost reduction strategies and vendor development.
- Familiarity with inventory control techniques (EOQ, safety stock, lead time analysis).
- Exposure to ISO standards and audit processes in manufacturing.

Pay: ₹400,000.00 - ₹600,000.00 per year
