Role Overview: A Video Editor is responsible for assembling recorded footage into a finished product suitable forbroadcasting, publishing, or online platforms. The role involves creative storytelling, technical editingskills, and collaboration with directors, producers, or content teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Edit raw video footage into polished, engaging content
- Trim clips, add transitions, effects, and sound elements
- Collaborate with directors, producers, and content creators
- Ensure logical sequencing and smooth flow of videos
- Add music, voiceovers, subtitles, and graphics
- Colour correct and enhance video quality
- Manage and organize video files and assets
- Meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality output
- Adapt content for different platforms (YouTube, social media, ads, etc.)
Qualifications & Skills Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Film, Media, Communication, or related field (optional)
- Proven experience as a video editor or similar role.
- Portfolio showcasing editing skills and past work.
- Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinciResolve.
- Strong understanding of video formats, codecs, and compression.
- Knowledge of motion graphics and tools like Adobe After Effects.
- Basic knowledge of audio editing and sound design.
