Job Summary
The Sales Engineer – Mini Excavators is responsible for driving sales growth, developing dealer/customer networks, and promoting mini excavators to contractors, builders, infrastructure companies, and rental businesses. The role combines technical product knowledge with strong sales and relationship management skills.
Key Responsibilities Sales & Business Development
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for mini excavators.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in assigned territory.
- Conduct field visits to contractors, construction sites, and equipment rental companies.
- Generate and follow up on sales leads.
- Prepare and present quotations and negotiate contracts.
Product Demonstration & Technical Support
- Conduct product demonstrations at customer sites.
- Explain machine features, specifications, and advantages over competitors.
- Provide technical consultation to customers regarding machine selection.
- Coordinate with service team for smooth machine delivery and commissioning.
Market Intelligence
- Monitor competitor activities, pricing, and market trends.
- Collect customer feedback and report to management.
- Identify potential demand in infrastructure, road work, landscaping, and urban projects.
Relationship Management
- Build long-term relationships with contractors and key accounts.
- Ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business.
- Support customers in financing and documentation processes (if applicable).
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain CRM records of leads and sales activities.
- Submit daily/weekly sales reports.
- Ensure proper documentation for order processing.
Qualification & Experience
- Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree
- 2–5 years of experience in construction equipment sales (preferably mini excavators).
Required Skills
- Strong technical understanding of construction equipment.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet sales targets.
- Knowledge of local construction market.
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools.
- Valid driving license (preferred).
