Job Description
- Designation: Assistant Manager / Manager – Import CS (CHA)
- Department: Customs House Agent (CHA) – Import
- Location: Chembur ∙Company: Nagarkot Forwarders Pvt. Ltd.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years (CHA Import operations)
- Salary: As per industry standards
Key Responsibilities:
Import Operations & Clearance:
- Handle end-to-end import clearance activities including filing of Bill of Entry (BOE).
- Ensure accurate classification, valuation, and duty calculation as per customs regulations.
- Coordinate with customs officials for examination, assessment, and clearance.
- Track clearance status and ensure timely delivery of consignments.
Documentation & Compliance:
- Verify import documents such as Invoice, Packing List, BL, COO, FSSAI/ADC/PQ licenses, etc.
- Ensure compliance with Customs Act, DGFT, and other regulatory requirements. Handle queries, objections, and amendments raised by customs authorities.
- Maintain proper records and documentation as per statutory requirements.
Client Coordination:
- Communicate clearly with clients regarding shipment status, requirements, and timelines.
- Provide accurate updates on clearance progress, duty, and delivery schedules.
- Resolve client queries, issues, or escalations professionally.
Vendor & Internal Coordination:
- Coordinate with transporters, surveyors, shipping lines, and CFS/ICD authorities.
- Work closely with internal teams for billing, documentation, and operations.
- Ensure cost control and timely billing of import files.
Team Handling (For Manager Level):
- Guide and supervise Import CS executives.
- Allocate work, review performance, and ensure process adherence.
- Support training and development of junior team members.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of import customs clearance and CHA procedures
- Familiarity with ICEGATE, EDI systems, and customs portals
- Good communication and client-handling skills
- Ability to handle multiple shipments under tight timelines
- Leadership and team management skills (for Manager role)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Graduate/Postgraduate (Logistics, Commerce, or related field preferred)
- CHA industry experience is mandatory
Pay: ₹60,000.00 - ₹90,000.00 per month
