Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Senior Merchandiser with 5–10 years of relevant experience in a woven apparel export house. The candidate will be responsible for handling the complete merchandising cycle from buyer communication and product development to sampling, costing, order execution, production follow-up and final shipment.
The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of woven garments, export merchandising, buyer handling, T&A, costing and production coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle the complete merchandising process from product development to shipment.
- Communicate and coordinate with international buyers, buying houses and buying teams.
- Study buyer tech packs, specifications, comments and requirements.
- Coordinate with design, sampling, production, sourcing, quality and PPC teams.
- Manage sample development, fit samples, PP samples, size sets and shipment samples.
- Prepare and monitor T&A (Time & Action) calendars to ensure timely order execution.
- Follow up on fabric, trims, accessories and other raw materials.
- Coordinate with fabric and trim suppliers for timely development and delivery.
- Prepare cost sheets, quotations and order costing based on buyer requirements.
- Negotiate and coordinate internally to achieve target costing and margins.
- Monitor production status and ensure orders meet buyer delivery schedules.
- Follow up on quality issues and coordinate with the QA/QC team for corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of orders, samples, approvals and production status.
- Coordinate with the commercial and logistics teams for shipment documentation and on-time dispatch.
- Handle buyer comments, approvals and changes throughout the order lifecycle.
- Identify potential production or delivery risks and take timely corrective action.
Required Skills
- Strong experience in Woven Apparel Merchandising.
- Good understanding of fabric, trims, garment construction and manufacturing processes.
- Strong knowledge of export documentation and international apparel order processes.
- Excellent understanding of T&A, costing, sampling and production follow-up.
- Good buyer communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong coordination and follow-up capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple styles/orders simultaneously.
- Good command of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict shipment deadlines.
Desired Candidate Profile
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in a woven apparel export house.
- Candidates from garment export houses / buying houses with strong woven apparel exposure will be preferred.
- Should have independently handled international buyers/orders.
- Should be comfortable managing multiple orders from development through shipment.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent follow-up skills are essential.
