A new data scientist role specializing in machine learning and generative AI solutions. This role emphasizes the team's reliance on Verizon's proprietary Gemini LLM models and the primary use of Google Cloud Platform for deploying AI applications.
The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in machine learning, 1 to 2 of experience in generative AI solution development, and be proficient in deploying applications independently on GCP. Python and React are the main programming languages used.
Communication skills are critical, as the role involves direct interaction with senior onshore leadership.
The interview process includes two rounds, and the position is based in Chennai with a hybrid work model.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and deploy machine learning models, predictive analytics, and AI solutions to solve business challenges.
2. Design and optimize algorithms for data processing, feature engineering, and pattern recognition.
3. Lead data exploration, mining, and visualization to uncover trends and actionable insights.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data science solutions into business strategies.
5. Drive innovation by leveraging advanced statistical techniques, deep learning, and big data technologies.
6. Ensure data integrity, governance, and best practices in model development and deployment.
7. Mentor junior data scientists and promote a data-driven culture within the organization.
8. Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance analytical capabilities.
Skill Requirements
Programming Languages: Exceptional proficiency in Python and strong SQL skills.
Google Cloud Platform (GCP): Hands-on experience with GCP infrastructure, specifically Vertex AI, BigQuery, and deployment services (Cloud Run/GKE).
Generative AI & LLMs: Proven experience working with Large Language Models, with a strong mandatory focus on the Google Gemini API (Pro, Flash, etc.) and Vertex AI Studio.
AI Frameworks: Familiarity with orchestration frameworks like LangChain or LlamaIndex for building complex LLM applications.
Vector Databases: Experience working with vector search solutions (e.g., Vertex AI Vector Search, Pinecone, or pgvector).
Data Science Toolkit: Proficiency with standard Python libraries (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch).
Software Engineering Best Practices: Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker).
