1 Line JD -
Build and own end-to-end marketplace and online commerce operations (Amazon, Flipkart, quick-commerce) from the ground up for a 20-year spice export house's first D2C brand
About the opportunity
You'd be joining a 20-year-old international spice trading and export business - one that has built its reputation on quality, integrity, and direct relationships with farmers. The Group is now launching its first-ever consumer-facing brand: a chemical-free, hygienically manufactured, fully traceable staples brand (starting with spices, expanding into superfoods and oils) built for the modern Indian kitchen. This is the company's first venture into direct-to-consumer (D2C) retail, and you'd be one of the founding hires building it from zero.
You'd be based onsite, reporting to the Brand Manager/Branch Lead.
The mission of this role
Your job is to build the entire digital shelf-to-doorstep journey for a brand-new product line - from the moment a customer discovers the Brand on Amazon, Flipkart, or a quick-commerce app, to the moment the product reaches their kitchen. You're not just listing products; you're constructing the operational backbone that lets a 20-year-old legacy business show up, for the first time, as a modern D2C player.
In the first 6 - 12 months, success doesn't look like a revenue number - it looks like presence, foundation, and readiness. Concretely: registered and fully built-out accounts on Amazon, Flipkart, and key quick-commerce platforms; clean, optimized listings with strong content and banners; a working sense of how each platform's economics and approval processes work; and early traction (sponsored listings live, reviews coming in, repeat orders starting). Revenue targets will follow once this foundation is in place - your first job is to build the runway.
What you'll actually do
- Register and set up the Brand's accounts on Amazon, Flipkart, and emerging quick-commerce platforms (Blinkit, Zepto, Instamart, etc.), including brand registry, cataloging, and content uploads.
- Own day-to-day marketplace operations: product listings, SEO/keyword optimization, banners, stock visibility, and order/return tracking.
- Run and manage paid advertising campaigns (e.g., Amazon Sponsored Products) once foundational setup is live.
- Conduct ongoing competitive analysis - pricing, positioning, and category trends across e-commerce and quick-commerce.
- Coordinate with warehouse/logistics to keep stock levels accurate across all channels.
- Track and report core KPIs: sales, ROAS, conversion rate, and customer acquisition, even before formal targets are set.
- Stay on top of new platforms as they emerge and bring informed recommendations on whether/how to onboard them.
Who this role is for
This is a builder's role, not a maintainer's role. You're joining at the 0-to-1 stage of a brand that doesn't fully exist yet - there is no playbook to follow, no team to lean on for answers, and no historical data to reference. You should expect to operate as roughly 80% doer, 20% thinker: someone who finds problems and solves them on the same day, rather than someone who waits for direction.
Hard skills / experience:
- 1-4 years of hands-on experience setting up and/or running marketplace operations (Amazon Seller Central is essential; Flipkart and quick-commerce experience is a strong plus).
- Direct, firsthand experience with brand registration and account setup on at least one major marketplace - this is non-negotiable, not a "nice to have."
- Strong working proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (for tracking, reporting, and basic analysis).
- Familiarity with quick-commerce platform mechanics (listing approval processes, commission structures) is a meaningful differentiator.
- Prior experience at a D2C or FMCG brand is strongly preferred; experience at an agency or marketplace-side (not just brand-side) will also be considered if the candidate demonstrates strong platform fluency at interview.
Soft skills:
- Ownership mindset - comfortable being the person who notices something's broken and fixes it, without waiting to be told.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and a 0-to-1 environment; not someone who needs a fully built system to operate within.
- Analytical and detail-oriented - this role lives in spreadsheets, listings, and platform dashboards.
- Resilient under a small-team, high-velocity startup pace.
Non-negotiables
- Must be based in or willing to relocate to Ahmedabad (this is a fully onsite role).
- Must have direct, hands-on experience setting up e-commerce accounts - not just managing an existing, already-set-up account.
Logistics and Timings -
- Office hours: 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM, Monday - Saturday, with alternate Saturdays off.
- Location: Sindhu Bhavan, Ahmedabad (onsite).
Where this can lead
The organisation is explicit that this is a founding role on a team that will grow. As the Brand scales, there's a real path to leading a small marketplace/e-commerce team rather than running it solo - but that growth will be earned through performance, not promised upfront.
Hiring process
- Screening round (15–30 min call) to assess fit and platform experience.
- Practical task/case-based round with the hiring team.
- Founder round (30 min call) to assess culture fit.
Pay: ₹300,000.00 - ₹450,000.00 per year
