Job Title:Assistant Designer- Product Development- Furniture
Location: Mumbai
No. of years of experience: 5+ years of experience with product development in the furniture industry (indoor) is preferred
Industry experience:Furniture
Qualification:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Product or Furniture Design or related field from an accredited university Certified 2D & 3D Designer from Autodesk or similar relevant work done in Furniture industry
Software Skills:
- Certified Autocad 2D & 3D Designer.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Experience in Solid modelling using a 3D CAD Program.
- Experience using Solid works preferred.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Study and understand Durian range of products.
- Working closely with the Product Development team lead, translate trends and concepts into designs that respond to business needs for the relevant product category.
- Designing, prototyping, and validating new products, specifying materials, form, function and manufacturing processes for new or existing designs.
- Active involvement as designer on product development, quality and BOM creation.
- Develop designs from initial concept through Prototype approval. Complete product specifications, costing and CADs.
- Execute prototyping and trailing new product designs or improvements.
- Ensure timely completion of project without sacrificing details.
- Assist in the development process through daily communication with the sourcing/purchase department, vendors and factory Product Development Team.
- Working with vendors, sourcing team with achieved target costs, product quality, on-time sample completion.
- Track samples and ensures all samples are approved in a timely manner.
- Communicating and documenting all sample details.
- Conduct or coordinate product testing to ensure compliance with internal and industry quality performance standards.
