Head of Maintenance Fleet & Logistics Business
Role Overview
Our client is looking for a technically strong and operationally driven maintenance leader to establish and manage the maintenance function for a growing fleet and logistics business. The role will be responsible for vehicle uptime, preventive maintenance, workshop management, vendor coordination, breakdown management, spare parts planning, and maintenance cost optimisation.
The ideal candidate should have strong exposure to commercial vehicle maintenance operations and experience building maintenance systems from scratch.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and lead the complete fleet maintenance function from the ground up
- Develop preventive and predictive maintenance frameworks for vehicle uptime optimisation
- Manage workshops, service vendors, breakdown support, and spare parts inventory
- Drive vehicle reliability, maintenance turnaround time, and cost control initiatives
- Build maintenance SOPs, compliance standards, and governance processes
- Coordinate closely with operations and planning teams for fleet availability management
- Monitor vehicle health, service schedules, and warranty management
- Lead vendor development and service quality management initiatives
- Implement maintenance MIS, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms
- Ensure adherence to safety, regulatory, and operational standards
- Build and lead maintenance teams across operational locations
Candidate Profile
- 15+ years of experience in commercial vehicle maintenance, fleet engineering, or transportation maintenance operations
- Strong exposure to heavy vehicle or fleet maintenance environments
- Experience setting up maintenance processes, workshops, and service networks preferred
- Good understanding of fleet uptime management and maintenance economics
- Hands-on and execution-focused leadership style
- Ability to work in fast-paced and evolving business environments
