Role Overview : The Assistant Manager – PPC Luggage is responsible for end-to-end production planning, ensuring seamless coordination between Sales, Production, Purchase, SCM, and Inventory to achieve on-time order fulfillment and optimum factory utilization. The role drives production scheduling, raw material planning, inventory optimization, and capacity management while proactively mitigating risks that may impact customer deliveries. The incumbent is accountable for maintaining production efficiency, improving planning accuracy, and providing actionable MIS to support business decisions.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Production Planning
- Prepare weekly and monthly production plans based on sales demand, production capacity, mould availability, and Raw Material availability.
- Prioritize production to ensure maximum order fulfillment while optimizing factory capacity.
- Balance production requirements across multiple product categories and SKUs.
2. Sales Order Management
- Receive sales orders from Sales Heads.
- Convert sales demand into actionable production plans.
- Track order status from planning until dispatch.
- Ensure timely execution of committed delivery timelines.
3. Inventory Management
- Maintain and circulate updated FG stock reports to the Sales team.
- Monitor inventory levels across Finished Goods, Work-in-Progress (WIP), and Raw Materials.
- Highlight stock shortages, excess inventory, and slow-moving items.
- Recommend production priorities based on stock position and customer demand.
4. Coordination with Production
- Work closely with factory production teams on daily production status.
- Track production progress against plan.
- Resolve production bottlenecks in coordination with the factory.
- Ensure adherence to production schedules and escalation of any deviations.
5. Purchase & Raw Material Planning
- Coordinate closely with the Purchase team for timely procurement of Raw Materials.
- Share production forecasts and RM requirements well in advance.
- Monitor RM availability and proactively identify potential shortages.
- Ensure procurement plans are aligned with production schedules.
6. Sales Coordination
- Act as the single point of contact between Sales, Production, SCM, and Purchase teams.
- Provide regular production and dispatch updates to the Sales team.
- Communicate expected delivery timelines and proactively highlight any risks or delays.
- Follow up with the Sales team for demand forecasts and revised order requirements.
7. Supply Chain Coordination
- Coordinate with SCM for dispatch planning and Finished Goods movement.
- Ensure production completion aligns with dispatch schedules.
- Support timely order fulfillment to customers.
8. MIS & Reporting
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports.
- Track: Production vs Plan, Order Fulfillment % , Capacity Utilization ,RM Availability, FG Inventory, Dispatch Status, Pending Sales Orders, Delivery Commitments
- Present reports and action plans during management review meetings.
9. Planning Capacity Management
- Monitor mould availability and utilization.
- Plan production considering machine capacities, manpower, and factory constraints.
- Recommend production priorities to maximize output and customer service levels.
- Identify capacity constraints and suggest corrective actions.
10. Ownership & Accountability
- Take complete ownership of production planning and execution.
- Ensure smooth coordination between Sales, Purchase, SCM, and Production.
- Take responsibility for delays, identify root causes, and drive corrective actions.
- Escalate potential risks proactively before they impact customer deliveries.
11. Preferred Experience
- Candidates with experience in companies manufacturing luggage brands and hard luggage (Mandatory) and soft luggage manufacturers will be preferred.
- Travel Requirement Willingness to travel to manufacturing units in Nashik and Bihar approximately once every 2–3 months, or as required, to review production, inventory, planning, and coordination activities.
- Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a related field. MBA/PGDM in Operations or Supply Chain will be an added advantage.
- Skills & Experience Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in Production Planning & Control (PPC) within the luggage manufacturing industry.
- Experience in handling both hard luggage (Very crucial) and soft luggage (Optional) production will be preferred
- Excellent command over Microsoft Excel. Strong analytical and planning skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- High sense of ownership and accountability. Strong coordination and follow-up skills.
Pay: ₹1,100,000.00 - ₹1,500,000.00 per year
