Key Responsibilities
Investor Outreach & Meetings: Proactively identify, cold-call, and meet Family
Offices, VC/PE funds, UHNIs, and other private investors to pitch client fundraising
mandates — this is a high-meeting-volume, field-facing role.
Deal Closure: Drive the fundraising process end-to-end — from first investor
meeting to term sheet and fund closure — owning the relationship at every stage.
Pitching & Presentation: Confidently present client business plans and investment
opportunities to investors face-to-face; comfortable handling investor Q&A and
objections on the spot.
Network Building: Continuously expand and leverage a personal network of Family
Offices, PE/VC funds, and UHNIs; bring an existing investor Rolodex where
possible.
Roadshows & Events: Plan and execute investor roadshows, one-on-one meetings,
and represent the firm at industry conferences and networking forums.
CRM & Pipeline Management: Maintain an active pipeline of investor
conversations, track commitments, and report fundraising progress against targets.
Client Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact between clients and investors
during negotiation and closing.
Market Intelligence: Stay current on investor appetite, sector funding trends, and
competitor fundraising activity to sharpen pitch strategy.
Cross-team Coordination: Work with internal teams to get pitch decks and collateral
ready — but the core job is meeting investors and closing capital, not preparing the
material.
Desired Candidate Profile
Experience:
4–5 years in a fund raising, business development, investment sales, or
wealth/investor relationship management role — NOT primarily a research, credit
analysis, or equity research background.
Prior experience directly meeting and pitching to Family Offices, VC/PE funds, or
UHNI investors is strongly preferred (candidates from broking, wealth management
sales, PMS/AIF distribution, or merchant banking BD roles are a great fit). An existing, active network of investor contacts is a significant plus and will be
weighted heavily in shortlisting.
Skills & Competencies:
Excellent verbal communication, persuasion, and interpersonal skills — this is a
hunting/closing role, not a desk-based analytical one.
Working knowledge of investment structures and deal terms (equity, debt, structured
deals) — enough to hold a credible investor conversation, not to build models.
Strong existing network or demonstrated ability to build one from scratch (cold
outreach, referrals, industry events).
Confident, presentable, and comfortable in senior boardroom / family office settings.
Target-oriented with a track record of meeting fundraising or sales closure numbers.
Willingness to travel extensively for investor meetings and industry events.
Proficiency in CRM tools, PowerPoint, and Excel (for pipeline tracking, not
modeling).
Educational Qualification:
Graduate/MBA in Finance, Commerce, Marketing, or related field.
CA/CFA is not mandatory for this role — practical fundraising/BD experience and
investor network matter more than academic credentials.
