About the Role
We are looking for an experienced PHP Developer with strong expertise in OpenCart to build, customize, and manage our eCommerce website from start to finish. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of hands-on PHP development experience and be capable of taking complete ownership of the project, including frontend development, backend architecture, performance optimization, integrations, and ongoing maintenance.
A key requirement for this project is implementing a multi-country URL structure with automatic country-based routing. For example:

The developer should have experience implementing international eCommerce solutions, geo-targeting, multilingual or multi-region website structures, and SEO-friendly country-specific URLs.
Responsibilities
- Develop, customize, and maintain an OpenCart-based eCommerce website.
- Handle end-to-end website development, including frontend and backend functionalities.
- Design and implement a multi-country URL structure with country-specific routing and localization.
- Develop custom OpenCart themes, modules, and extensions as required.
- Optimize website speed, performance, and scalability.
- Integrate third-party APIs, payment gateways, shipping providers, and external services.
- Ensure website security, data protection, and best development practices.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance existing features.
- Maintain responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver effective solutions.
- Provide ongoing support, maintenance, and future enhancements.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of proven PHP development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with OpenCart development, customization, theme development, and module creation.
- Excellent knowledge of PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, and AJAX.
- Experience implementing multi-country or multi-region eCommerce websites.
- Strong understanding of SEO-friendly URL structures and international SEO best practices.
- Experience with REST APIs and third-party integrations.
- Good understanding of MVC architecture (OpenCart framework preferred).
- Familiarity with Git and version control systems.
- Ability to work independently and manage projects from concept to deployment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with multilingual and multi-currency eCommerce websites.
- Knowledge of international SEO and geo-targeting implementation.
