Job Title: Research Intern – Agriculture (Jharsuguda Odisha)
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Research Intern to support agricultural research, field data collection, farmer engagement, and project documentation activities in Jharsuguda Odisha. The intern will gain hands-on experience in agricultural research, sustainable farming practices, crop monitoring, and rural development initiatives. Similar agricultural research internships often involve field surveys, data collection, analysis, and stakeholder interactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct field visits to farms and project sites across Jharsuguda.
- Collect primary data through farmer surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions.
- Assist in crop monitoring, soil assessment, and agricultural field trials.
- Gather information on farming practices, crop yields, input usage, and challenges faced by farmers.
- Support data entry, cleaning, validation, and analysis using MS Excel and other tools.
- Prepare field reports, case studies, and research summaries.
- Coordinate with local farmers, FPOs, government officials, and other stakeholders.
- Assist in documenting project activities and maintaining research records.
- Support literature reviews and secondary research on agriculture, climate-smart farming, biochar, soil health, and related topics.
- Participate in awareness programs, demonstrations, and farmer training activities.
Eligibility
- Pursuing or recently completed B.Sc./M.Sc. Agriculture or related disciplines.
- Freshers with a strong interest in agricultural research are encouraged to apply.
- Candidates from Odisha or familiar with local farming systems will be preferred.
Required Skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to interact with farmers and rural communities
- Strong observation, documentation, and analytical skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Willingness to travel extensively within rural areas of Odisha
- Knowledge of Odia language will be an added advantage.
- Basic understanding of agricultural practices and research methodologies.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in field surveys or agricultural projects.
- Knowledge of GIS, data analysis, or statistical tools.
- Interest in climate-smart agriculture, soil health, biochar, carbon farming, or sustainable agriculture.
Pay: ₹2,000.00 per month
