The Accounts Manager is responsible for managing day-to-day financial and accounting operations of the jewelry store, ensuring accurate records, timely reporting, and compliance with internal policies. This role supports smooth sales operations by controlling billing, cash handling, stock reconciliation, vendor payments, and account settlements.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate books of accounts, including sales, purchases, receipts, payments, and journal entries.
- Manage daily cash, card, UPI, and bank transactions, and reconcile them with sales reports.
- Prepare and verify invoices, credit notes, debit notes, and customer account statements.
- Monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable, ensuring timely collections and vendor payments.
- Reconcile stock with inventory reports, especially for gold, diamond, and other high-value items.
- Support monthly closing, profit and loss reporting, and audit preparation.
- Verify tax-related records, including GST filings and other statutory compliance.
- Coordinate with sales, store operations, purchase, and inventory teams.
- Maintain customer advance, exchange, and order booking records.
- Identify and report discrepancies, shortages, or unusual transactions immediately.
- Handle internal and external audit support and documentation.
- Ensure confidential handling of financial data and compliance with company policies.
Required Skills
- Strong accounting knowledge and attention to detail.
- Experience with retail billing, cash management, and reconciliations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
- Knowledge of GST and retail tax compliance.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure.
Qualifications
- B.Com, M.Com, BBA Finance, or equivalent.
- 3–7 years of accounting experience, preferably in retail, jewelry, or luxury goods.
- Prior experience with inventory-linked accounting is preferred.
