Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Foundry & Machine Shop Head to lead end-to-end foundry and machining operations. The candidate will be responsible for production planning, quality control, manpower management, machine utilization, process improvement, safety compliance, and achieving production targets while maintaining high operational efficiency.
The ideal candidate should have strong technical expertise in foundry operations, CNC machining, casting processes, and shop floor management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage complete foundry and machine shop operations.
- Oversee melting, molding, pouring, fettling, machining, and finishing activities.
- Ensure production targets are achieved with optimum machine utilization.
- Supervise CNC/VMC/HMC/lathe/milling/grinding machine operations.
- Monitor productivity, rejection rates, downtime, and process efficiency.
- Implement quality control systems and corrective actions.
- Manage manpower planning, shift allocation, and operator training.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams for preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, PPE usage, and 5S practices.
- Optimize production costs and improve operational efficiency.
- Work closely with quality, design, and dispatch departments.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and TPM.
- Prepare daily production reports and MIS documentation.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of foundry operations and machining processes.
- Experience in CNC machine shop management.
- Knowledge of casting defects analysis and process improvement.
- Ability to handle production planning and shop floor execution.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Good understanding of quality systems and safety compliance.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Qualifications
- BE / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 15+ years of experience with at least 7-8 years in foundry and machine shop operations.
- Experience in ferrous/non-ferrous foundry preferred.
Pay: ₹1,200,000.00 - ₹1,800,000.00 per year
