We are seeking a diligent and motivated Law Graduate to join our corporate legal team. He /She will play a crucial role in managing the company’s litigation portfolio, safeguarding commercial interests through robust contract management, and mitigating financial risks. This role offers hands-on experience in corporate litigation, commercial drafting, and strategic legal operations.
JD for Legal Resource
1. Litigation & Section 138 Management
- Draft and issue legal notices for cheque bounce cases under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act.
- Prepare complaints, evidence affidavits, and replication drafts for filing before relevant courts.
- Track case statuses, manage hearing calendars, and ensure zero missed deadlines.
- Attend court proceedings and assist senior counsels during hearings.
2. Contract & Agreement Finalization
- Review, draft, and finalize vendor agreements, customer contracts, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), and service-level agreements (SLAs).
- Identify potential legal risks in commercial contracts and suggest alternative clauses to protect company interests.
- Negotiate legal terms directly with vendor and customer legal teams to expedite closures.
3. External Counsel Coordination
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the company and external law firms or independent advocates.
- Brief external counsels on complex litigation matter details and provide necessary case documents.
- Monitor external legal fees, review invoices, and track performance metrics of paneled law firms.
4. Financial & Risk Control (Contingent Liabilities)
- Maintain an updated tracker of all active disputes to accurately monitor and control the company’s contingent liabilities.
- Coordinate with the Finance and Accounts teams to provide periodic updates on potential financial risks from pending litigation.
- Formulate legal strategies to minimize financial exposure and accelerate recoveries.
5. Legal Knowledge Management
- Establish, organize, and maintain the physical and digital corporate legal library.
- Monitor, archive, and update the repository of company executed contracts and case files.
- Track recent judicial precedents and legislative changes relevant to the company's business sector.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Thorough knowledge of court functioning, processes, and filing procedures for corporate-related matters.
- Strong foundational knowledge of the Negotiable Instruments Act, Indian Contract Act, and Civil Procedure Code (CPC).
- Exceptional drafting and negotiation skills with high attention to detail.
- Fluency in English (both written and spoken); knowledge of local regional languages is an advantage for court coordination.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and legal research databases will be an added advantage.
- Excellent time-management skills to handle multiple litigation timelines simultaneously.
Pay: ₹900,000.00 - ₹1,200,000.00 per year
