Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to oversee quality assurance and quality control activities in our cattle feed manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products consistently meet quality standards, nutritional specifications, and applicable regulatory requirements. This role requires strong leadership, laboratory management, and process improvement skills.
Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Assurance (QA)
- Develop, implement, and maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure compliance with company quality standards and feed safety requirements.
- Conduct internal quality audits and process reviews.
- Implement and monitor Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
Quality Control (QC)
- Supervise testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
- Verify nutritional parameters including Protein, Fat, Fibre, Moisture, Ash, Calcium, and Phosphorus.
- Approve or reject raw materials and finished products based on quality specifications.
- Maintain proper sample retention and quality documentation.
Laboratory Management
- Manage day-to-day feed testing laboratory operations.
- Ensure calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Monitor testing accuracy and reporting.
- Maintain laboratory records, reports, and quality documentation.
Production Quality Monitoring
- Monitor grinding, mixing, pelleting, and packing processes.
- Verify compliance with feed formulations and production standards.
- Ensure product consistency and pellet quality.
- Coordinate with the production team to minimise quality deviations.
Customer Complaints & Continuous Improvement
- Investigate product quality concerns and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Implement corrective and preventive measures.
- Prepare documentation related to issue resolution and continuous improvement initiatives.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable feed industry regulations and quality standards.
- Coordinate internal and external quality audits.
- Maintain all quality-related records, certifications, and documentation.
Required Qualifications
- B.V.Sc. & A.H., B.Sc. Agriculture, or an equivalent qualification (Preferred).
Experience
- 5–10 years of experience in the cattle feed, animal nutrition, or feed manufacturing industry.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a Quality Manager or similar leadership role.
- Experience managing feed testing laboratories will be an advantage.
