RESPONSIBILITIES
Research & Data Collection:
- Conduct field research and ground-level investigations on political governance, policy implementation, and institutional effectiveness
- Collect primary data through surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions (FGDs) with community members, stakeholders, and government officials
- Document and analyse political processes, electoral dynamics, and civic participation patterns
- Maintain detailed research notes and ensure data quality and accuracy
Community Engagement:
- Engage directly with grassroots communities to understand their needs, concerns, and aspirations
- Build rapport with local leaders, civil society organisations, and community members
- Facilitate dialogue between communities and government representatives where appropriate
- Support community-led initiatives and locally relevant solutions to socio-economic challenges
Analysis & Documentation:
- Analyse collected data and prepare research findings in clear, compelling formats
- Contribute to research reports, policy briefs, and advocacy materials
- Identify trends, patterns, and insights from ground-level observations
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Law, or related field
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in local/regional languages
- Excellent research and analytical abilities
- Ability to conduct interviews and engage with diverse stakeholders
- Basic data collection and documentation skills
- Self-motivation and ability to work independently in field settings
- Cultural sensitivity and respect for diverse perspectives
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
